THE BIO OF BUDDY AND JUDY

The husband and wife duo of Buddy and Judy Knippers are retired and travel extensively in their motor home, playing music most everywhere they go. Buddy spent twenty-eight years at Proctor and Gamble before retiring in 1997. Judy took an early retirement from Grant Parish School Board so that they could travel more in 1998. Their home base is in Dry Prong, Louisiana where they have lived for the past fifteen years.

They have a family of four children and ten grandchildren. They are active members of Dry Prong First Baptist Church where they are called on to sing specials and are members of the choir.

Their love for music lead them to the bluegrass festivals where they have met many wonderful people and have increased their musical talents by playing and singing with many people. Buddy began playing guitar at the age of ten and in 1978 met a man who taught him how to play mandolin. He later taught Judy to play rhythm guitar in 1984 and as time went by she began to have an interest in the upright bass and has been playing bass since 1986.

They headed up a Bluegrass Gospel group, Big Creek Gospel, for the last ten years. They have sung at many churches around Louisiana and Texas as well as Nursing Homes and their local radio station. They recorded a CD in 1998 entitled Christ Made The Way.
